Women's CricZone WBBL Team Of The Tournament
There were a number of impressive performances during WBBL03 and therefore to name a side that would take on the best that the competition is always going to be difficult. In the team named there are notable absences such as Ellyse Perry, who finished as one of the leading run scorers but is as much to do with the expectations of her abilities.

So here go with the Women’s CricZone WBBL team of the tournament.

1. Elyse Villani (Perth Scorchers): The Perth Scorchers captain was the second leading run scorer with 535 runs at an average of 41.15. She scored five 50s and at an impressive strike-rate. There is no doubting the power in which she hits the ball and more often than not got her side off to the perfect start.

2. Beth Mooney (Brisbane Heat): The Australian international had an impressive strike-rate of 143.51 an impressive batter who goes quietly about her work. The next player in the side is the only reason she does not keep wicket in the side.

3. Alyssa Healy (Sydney Sixers): An effective opener alongside Perry, Healy was one of three players to score centuries during the tournament, a destructive batter on her day and one of the best around behind the stumps.

4. Amy Satterthwaite (Melbourne Renegades): The New Zealand international brings balance to the batting able to judge a situation and adapt quickly. She was able to keep her side the Melbourne Renegades in many close matches. Also, a handy bowler who 11 wickets.

5. Sophie Molineux (Melbourne Renegades): Named Rebel Young Gun award for her performances during the tournament. There were some impressive batting performances and her left-arm spin took some important wickets.

6. Ashleigh Gardner (Sydney Sixers): The all-rounder got WBBL03 off to the most explosive start with a quick-fire hundred on the opening weekend. Concussion issues meant that she didn’t play as many games as she would have hoped. Also a more than handy bowler.

7. Suzie Bates (Adelaide Strikers): A good captain who while usually opens, who couldn’t resist having someone of her ability to finish an innings, also 16 wickets at run-rate of under six an over makes her a must pick.

8. Dane van Niekerk (Sydney Sixers): The third highest wicket-taker in the competition despite missing the back end due to international commitments. A leg-spinner of the highest order who takes wickets without conceding too many runs.

9. Marizanne Kapp (Sydney Sixers): The most economical bowler who stops teams from getting off to quick starts, maybe did take the number of wickets she would have wished for.

10. Katherine Brunt (Perth Scorchers): The second most economical bowler behind Kapp but also the joint leading wicket-taker. Can be considered an all-rounder with a hard-hitting approach. One of the first picks on the side.

11. Sarah Aley (Sydney Sixers): Along with Brunt the leading wicket-taker and her impressive figures of 4 for 18, turned the Sydney Sixers fortunes in their semi-final against the Adelaide Strikers. A regular bowler in the middle overs and dependable.
