Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hosted the first Indoor Schools Tape-Ball Cricket Championship event at Tennis Court Area, Punjab Sports Board, Lahore. PCB Women's Wing organized the event. The tournament took place from the 1st to the 5th of October, 2018. It featured 16 teams, from both public and private schools. The format of the tournament was such that the 16 teams were divided into groups of four. Each team played against all the other teams in their group once.

The tournament was won by Government Girls High School, Barki. The winners batted first and put on a whopping 110-8 on the board from their eight overs. For them, Amna Waris top-scored with a rapid-fire 31 off just nine balls! In reply, their opponents, Lahore Grammar School Defence could only manage 67-7 and lost by 43 runs. Waris was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament. She was presented her trophy by Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof.

This initiative of PCB's Women's Wing is keeping in-line with Vision 2022. The Indoor Schools tape-Ball Cricket Championship aims to make the game easier to adapt in schools by reducing the amount of space and equipment needed. Another objective of it is to make cricket more exciting for young girls so that they take interest in it and enjoy playing, while also being active. It will help prepare a new generation of women cricketers in Pakistan as players will be scouted during the tournament, with those showing talent and skill being selected to learn and grow through Women Cricket Development Pathway Programs.
