White Ferns fined due to slow over-rate against Australia

White Ferns have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate in their ICC World T20 match against Australia in Guyana on November 14. They were found short of one over to reach their target, which they lost by 33 runs. Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, Richie Richardson has imposed the fine on White Ferns for being one over short while time allowances were taken into consideration.



According to article 2.5.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Players Support Personnel, which is related to the minor over-rates issue, players are fined 10 per cent of their match fees for the every over their team fails to finish in their scheduled time and the captain has to pay the double.



As of now, Satterthwaite has been fined 20 per cent of her match fee and others, 10 per cent. If in case, New Zealand team will do the same offence again in a T20I within 12 months under Satterthwaite's captaincy, she will be suspended for one match. On-field umpires Langton Rusere and Shaun George, third umpire Gregory Brathwaite and fourth umpire Sue Redfern have levelled this charge against her.
