England are all set to face West Indies in a five-match T20I series at home starting on Monday (September 21). Both teams are returning to international cricket after a gap of more than six months. The last time both sides played international cricket was against each other during the 2020 T20 World Cup in March where England got the better of West Indies by 46 runs.

Ahead of the series in Derby Women’s CricZone takes a look at some interesting numbers and records from their past encounters.

0 - Number of centuries made in T20Is between England and West Indies.

1 - England and West Indies have been involved in one tied T20I. On 24 October 2013, both teams finished on 118 during the sixth match of the tri-nation tournament in Bridgetown.  Stafanie Taylor contributed a valuable 40 in the first innings of the match before taking two crucial wickets in the final over of England's chase to keep England at bay. West Indies eventually won the super over.

2 - England fell two runs short of their 122-run target during the 2010 T20 World Cup group match against West Indies in Basseterre. Once again, it was Stafanie Taylor who held her nerve in the final over, removing the dangerous Nicky Shaw before Katherine Brunt was run out off the final delivery to help West Indies get over the line. This is the smallest margin of victory in terms of runs between the two sides.

4.10 - Laura Marsh’s economy rate in T20Is against West Indies. This is the best economy rate among all the bowlers who have bowled a minimum of ten overs in matches between the two sides.

5/16 - Leg-spinner Shaquana Quintyne holds the record for the best bowling figures in T20Is between the two sides. Her match haul of 5 for 16 came during the 2013 tri-nation series in West Indies and is the only five-wicket haul in T20Is between these two sides.

8 - The head-to-head record between both sides currently stands at 8-8 with one game being tied. Both teams have so far dominated at home losing only one match against their opponent, while England holds the upper hand in neutral venues leading the West Indies by two games to one.

16 - The number of runs required for Stafanie Taylor to become only the second player - after Suzie Bates - to score 3000 runs in T20Is.

17 - The number of sixes hit by Deandra Dottin in T20Is against England. She leads the six-hitting race by a long way with the second-best in the list, Stafanie Taylor, having only three sixes to her name.

18 - West Indies skipper Taylor is the leading wicket-taker in T20Is between England and West Indies with 18 wickets from 13 innings. Anya Shrubsole with her 14 wickets from 12 innings is second-best on the list.

29 - The number of balls taken by Dottin to register the fastest fifty in T20Is between the two sides. On 16 September 2012, she scored 62 of 34 balls in Arundel to help West Indies register a three-wicket win against England in a match that went down to the last ball.

62 - England won the first T20I in Chester-le-Street during the 2012 West Indies tour of England with 10.2 overs remaining chasing. This is the largest margin of victory in terms of the number of balls remaining in T20Is between the two sides.

70 - West Indies could only score 70 for 8 from their 20 overs while chasing 154 during the fourth T20I in Hove in the 2012 series. This is the lowest team total in matches between the two sides and the second-worst total in West Indies’ T20I history.

81 - Danielle Wyatt scored the highest individual score in T20Is between the two sides when she smashed a 55-ball 81 in Northampton during the 2nd T20I of the 2019 series. Wyatt is only one of two England players in the current squad to have registered a fifty against West Indies - Natalie Sciver being the other.

84 - England’s 84-run win during the T20I in Hove in 2012 is the largest margin of victory in terms of runs between the two sides.

98 - Lydia Greenway and Sarah Taylor shared a match-winning 98-run stand in Hove in 2012. This is the highest partnership in all T20Is between the two sides.

120.88 - Dottin’s strike rate of 120.88 in her 16 T20I innings against England is the best among players who faced a minimum of 100 balls in the matches between the two sides. No player has scored at a faster rate.

180/6 - In 2019, England scored 180 for 6 batting first during the 2nd T20I in Northampton to register the highest team total between the two sides. England won the match by 42 runs with the help of Wyatt’s 81.

351 - Stafanie Taylor has scored a total of 351 runs against England in 14 T20Is. She tops the batting charts, marginally pipping former England skipper Charlotte Edwards, who had 347 runs to her credit. She is also the leading wicket-taker in T20Is between the two sides.
