Ahead of their World T20 campaign starts, Ireland played two warm-up matches against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Ireland lost to Bangladesh but won against Sri Lanka. Earlier Ireland was part of the ICC World T20 Qualifiers where they ended up being the runners-up and are currently placed in Group B along with India, Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand.

After having won against Sri Lanka, captain Laura Delany wants to carry that momentum on their series opener against Australia on November 11. "Going into our first game tomorrow against Australia, we know it's going to be a tough challenge, but I suppose we're hoping to take the confidence and the freedom that we played with in the Sri Lanka game into tomorrow."

Though they lost against Bangladesh, the captain told they have played against Bangladesh several times and they both know each other pretty well. While talking about the pitch, she shared, "having watched the games yesterday, it seems like the track is going to stay quite low and slow." For that reason, Delany wants to follow their plans. "So from a batting point of view, we just need to make sure that we stick to our plans and that we work with the person at the other end. And bowling-wise, we set different targets as well."

On the other hand, Australia started their campaign with a massive win against Pakistan. Whether it would be tough or not, playing against them, Delany explained if they could execute their plans, that would be great for them. "Obviously Australia first off is going to be a tough target. They have some outstanding players on their team. But I'm very confident that if we stick to our plans and execute them that we'll be pretty happy."

All the players are fit and fine apart from some niggles, said Laura Delany while talking about the injury about players; whereas from the travel front, as they have travelled Guyana, Antigua, back again to Guyana, she shared, "I think we got accustomed to it quite quickly. It's part of this tournament as well. We obviously had a very convincing win in Antigua. So, we're pretty happy with that trip and now at the business end of the tour, and we can't wait to get stuck into us."
