In what comes as more positive news from Sydney, the semi-finals and final of the sixth season of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) will be played under lights on November 25, 26 and 28, it was announced on Wednesday (November 11). The North Sydney Oval will play host to all the three games. The matches will also be live telecast at prime time, with a view to take WBBL, which is in its second standalone season, to more viewers.

The WBBL06 is being played across five venues in Sydney – North Sydney Oval, Hurstville Oval, Sydney Showground Stadium, Drummoyne Oval and the Blacktown International Sportspark. This season has already seen more number of games on live television and this move will only enhance the viewership.

“The move to a full prime time Finals series is another major leap in the evolution of the rebel WBBL,” said Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s Head of Big Bash Leagues.

We thank the NSW Government for recognising this and rewarding our loyal fans in Sydney.”
