Australian fast bowler Tayla Vlaeminck has switched from Melbourne Renegades to Hobart Hurricanes for the upcoming WBBL|05.

Vlaeminck has recovered from the partial ACL injury to her left knee which occurred during the training session for the Renegades. This wasn't her first major injury as she has already had two knee reconstructions due to ruptured ACLs. She made her WBBL debut only in the last season as she was sidelined for the previous two seasons due to injuries.

She made her T20I debut against India in last year's World T20 in the Caribbean.

"I'd heard all about the great things happening with the Female Program down in Tasmania from a few players so when I heard of their interest I was really excited about the move south," said Vlaeminck.

Hurricanes Women's Head Coach, Salliann Briggs, is thrilled with the new addition to her side's bowling attack.

"We identified the need to add some more pace to complement our attack and Tayla definitely brings that," said Briggs.

"We're really pleased one of the rising stars of Australian cricket will continue her development as a Hurricanes player."

Hurricanes have had two miserable WBBL seasons where they finished last and won only 2 matches in both the seasons. Their rebuilding continues as Vlaeminck joins Australian all-rounder Nicola Carey, who also joined the Hurricanes from Sydney Thunder.
