India have announced their squad for the upcoming ICC World T20 scheduled to take place in the West Indies in November with young all rounder Pooja Vastrakar replacing the experienced Shikha Pandey from their tour of Sri Lanka.
The squad looks fairly inexperienced and young on the pace bowling front with Jhulan Goswami retiring from the shortest format and then Shikha Pandey getting dropped. The pace bowling department of Mansi Joshi, Arundhati Reddy and Pooja Vastrakar have played a total of 18 T20Is till date. Pooja Vastrakar returns from ankle injury which she had suffered after the Asia Cup.
India have continued the same batting and spin bowling squad which featured in the 5 T20Is against Sri Lanka with young Taniya Bhatia handling the glove work for the team. They will heavily rely on Mandhana, Mithali, Harmanpreet and the young Jemimah Rodrigues to give them good starts with Anuja Patil, Veda Krishnamurthy playing the role of a finisher.
