Two players from the Lightning squad participating in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint trophy  - both of whom did not play in Saturday's fixture against Northern Diamonds - are currently undergoing a mandatory two-week isolation period having breached COVID regulations, CRICKETher reported.

The pair were found to be in breach of the UK government's Stage Three guidelines. All the players were made aware of the guidelines relating to elite sport ahead of the tournament.

Since the tournament is not being held in a bubble, the players are expected to strictly follow all guidelines put in place to ensure the health and safety of all players, staff and officials involved in the tournament.

The players are now “self-isolating for a two week period following Public Health England advice.” They will thus be unavailable for the team's next two fixtures.

Lightning have so far lost all three of their matches - one against Thunder and two against Northern Diamonds - and will be eager to turn their form around.
