The ICC Women’s World T20 has started with a bang in the very first match between India and New Zealand at the Providence Stadium, Guyana. After having chosen to bat first, India made some changes in their batting order. When their changing batting order failed to surprise others, Captain Harmanpreet Kaur joined 18-year old Jemimah Rodrigues at the crease within the powerplay.
After being in a wonderful form for the last couple of months, Harmanpreet Kaur smashed her first T20I hundred with a 49 balls with 7 fours and 8 sixes. This is the first T20I hundred scored by an Indian as well.
The WHITE FERNS players came and shook her hands after this wonderful innings. Twitter burst in praise and shock seeing the Indian captain’s blitzy innings:

Mind. Blown. Six months ago Harmanpreet was struggling for consistency. Now, in what could be a virtual quarter-final, she turns it on like this. What a player. #harmanpreetkaur #WT20#WatchThis #NZvIND

Started slowly….but finished strongly.
आप अपने आग़ाज़ से नहीं,
