Australia beat England by 8 wickets in the final in Antigua to win the ICC Women's World T20 2018. All-rounder Ashleigh Gardner stars for the Southern Stars having taken 3 wickets in the first innings to go on with an unbeaten innings of 29.
Even after sloppy fielding from the team from down under, they were able to restrict England to 105 all out which was easily chased by the Australian batting led by Healy and taken forward by an unbeaten 3rd wicket partnership between Gardner and Lanning.
During the match, Ellyse Perry also became the second player to take 100 T20I wickets after Anisa Mohammed of Windies.
Here is how Twitter reacted to Australia's win:
Huge congrats @SouthernStars. Calm & focused Lanning at the helm in the chase and truly deserved the win. Lots to be proud of for @englandcricket still and great to see youngsters standing up at different times during the tournament. #WWT20
