Following a successful stint during the T20 World Cup earlier this year where he worked with the team on an interim basis, Macdonald wias offered the job on a full-time basis. He previously worked with England head coach Lisa Keightley when she was associated with Western Australia and Perth Scorchers.
"I've known Tim for a while and I've worked with him previously and I knew what skills he would bring to the group, especially with the fast bowlers.
"He was a great addition across the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Australia and when it came to interview he was the stand-out candidate in terms of helping the team continue their improvement."

Meanwhile, the ECB confirmed that England's inter-squad warm-up game on Thursday (August 6) will be live-streamed on the website. CricketHer reported that the two teams will be named after two of England's greatest players, Rachael Heyhoe-Flint and Janette Brittin.
The matches are meant to be preparation for the squad ahead of the proposed series against South Africa in September. It will be the first competitive game played by the group since England's semi-final exit in the T20 World Cup.
