Bangladesh is the relative newcomers to international cricket having played their first ODI against Ireland in 2011. They attained that status by beating the United States in a World qualifier that helped them into the world’s top ten and the official recognition.
They qualified for the women’s World T20 which was hosted in Bangladesh and even beat Sri Lanka in one of the group games, despite this they finished bottom of that stage.
They are currently ranked ninth in the world just above Ireland but have played more games than their European counterparts.
It is important that Bangladesh is allowed to develop so they can catch up with the progress of their near neighbours.
