Surrey complete domestic double after Kent-Middlesex game ends in no result
Surrey have secured the London Championship title after the game between Middlesex and Kent ended in no result due to rain. The washout left Surrey at the top of the table with 41 points from three games. In doing so they also completed a domestic double having won the London Cup earlier to cap a memorable unbeaten 2020.

The Hannah Jones-led side began their campaign with an eight-wicket victory over Kent at the Nevill Ground in Tunbridge Wells. Dani Gregory and Claudie Cooper took three wickets each to bowl out Kent for 138 all out. In reply, Alice Capsey hit an unbeaten 70 to steer her team home in just 2.2 overs.

In the second game, Aylish Cranstone hit a 48 not out and Kirstie White scored 39 to help Surrey beat Essex by eight wickets at Gidea Park CC. Jones and Capsey also took three wickets apiece to bowl the opposition out for 135. However, their final game against Middlesex was a victim of bad weather.

Surrey dismissed Middlesex for 181 before their chase was cut short when they were 30 for 2 from nine overs. With the county season coming to an end, as many as nine Surrey players will head to South East Stars setup for the inaugural Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Trophy. They are Chloe Brewer, Alice Capsey, Aylish Cranstone, Amy Gordon, Eva Gray, Dani Gregory, Hannah Jones, Rhianna Southby and Kirstie White.
