In 2019-20, Bushfire ravaged through Australia, Black summer bushfires was one of the biggest natural disasters in the country. While it’s no substitute for the loss occurred, cricket wanted to do its part for raising relief. Thus came ‘The Big Appeal’. 

Part of it was the ‘Bushfire Cricket Bash' where Ponting XI took on Gilchrist XI with many cricketing stars participating in it.The biggest attraction of the day was Sachin Tendulkar taking on Ellyse Perry during the innings break. While many sporting icons graced the occasion, there was this 16-year-old who batted at four for Ponting XI. She batted with Ricky Ponting and fellow southpaw Brian Lara. 

Her name was Phoebe Litchfield. In this episode of Chitale Bandhu Mithaiwale Sunday Stories, we talk about the story of young Litchfield, who went viral at the age of 16 and then went on to play for South Africa before she turned 20.
