Former Bihar first-class cricketer Subrato Das has been appointed as the head of women's selection sub-committee in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) on Sunday (August 30). The decision to form women's selection sub-committee along with senior and junior men's selection committee was made in the virtual meeting that was presided over by the JSCA President Dr. Nafis Akhtar Khan.



Jai Kumar Sinha, Nishi Kant Mohanty and Kavita Ray will also be a part of the women's selection sub-committee that will be headed by Das.



"We also discussed the proposed T20 tournament scheduled to be held from September 10-27 at JSCA International Stadium Complex," Sanjay Sahay, Secretary of JSCA, told The New Indian Express, adding that 450 members, including the vice-president Ajay Nath Shahdeo, treasurer Partha Sarathi Sen and joint-secretary Rajiv Bandhan, attended the meeting.

While the state government has permitted the association to conduct the tournament, Sahay said that they are awaiting approval from the BCCI before finalising the details.



It was also decided to appoint former Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court Justice, Rafat Alam, as the ombudsman for 2020-21, replacing Justice MY Eqbal. The men's as well as the junior selection committees were also formed. While Ashok Ghosh, the former Ranji Trophy player from Bihar, was appointed as the chairman of the men's selection committee, Milan Dutta, former Bihar player, will head the junior committee. Dhananjay Singh, Brajesh Roy and Shahid Arfi are the members, who'll work under Ghosh, and Shashi Bhushan Chaubey, Manoj Yadav and Subroto Ghosh will be part of the committee headed by Dutta.



"Annual report of 2019-20 and audited accounts and balance sheet of the same financial year were also adopted during the meeting," said Sahay, adding that the minutes of the last year's AGM and special general meeting were approved.
