Sri Lanka to tour West Indies for limited over’s series in October
Sri Lanka will be touring on Caribbean soil, for a multi-series of 3 ODI’ s & 3 T20’s against West Indies from October 11 under the leadership of Inoka Ranaweera, while the West Indies team is ready to face the challenge under multitalented Stafanie Taylor. Taylor is a complete package, and this all-rounder already has a significant identity in both formats of limited over’s cricket.

Recently both teams met in Women’s World Cup, where the West Indies women defeated Sri Lankan women by 47 runs, but they didn’t continue that victory in the World Cup, where they have registered only two wins out of seven matches. On the other hand, Sri Lankan Women registered their only victory against Pakistan Women, who incidentally landed up last on the leader-board. West Indies Women finished the tournament at number 6 while Sri Lanka Women at number 7. Both teams will check their strength, having the Women’s T20 World Cup in mind, which will be organized on the same soil a year later. For both teams this series is very important as their performance will affect their qualifying criteria for Women’s World Cup 2021.

Sri Lanka will play only one warm-up match against Tobago & Trinidad Women on National Cricket Centre, Trinidad on Sunday, 8th October 2017.

The schedule is:

Oct 11: 1st ODI – Sri Lanka v West Indies, Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad
