Smriti Mandhana is one of the two Indians and the only woman to win the prestigious Wisden India Almanack Cricketer of the Year Award, announced on Friday (October 25).

India’s Jasprit Bumrah, Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman, Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Karunaratne and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan are the other four winners.

Mandhana is only the third woman to be awarded the ‘Cricketer of the Year’ after Mithali Raj (2018) and Deepti Sharma (2017).

In matches beginning from January 2018, Mandhana averages a whopping 66.90 in ODIs with seven fifties and a ton to her credit. In 25 T20Is that she played during that period, her strike rate was close to 131, much higher than her career strike rate of 116.86.
