Former Pakistan captain Sana Mir feels that the time is right for the PCB to start the women's version of the Pakistan Super League.

Pakistan recently hosted Windies with the touring side winning it 2-1 in Karachi as the second game went to the Super Over. They bounced back in the ICC ODI Championship series with Dubai winning the series 2-1.

“PSL is a wonderful brand that has been produced by Pakistan,” said Mir on the sidelines of the men's PSL. “We have been playing international cricket for the last ten years and we are in the top ten."

The fourth version of the men's PSL began last week and Mir is aware that the women's PSL might soon be on the cards. “We just defeated the Windies and we have been playing good cricket. Deandra Dottin came to Pakistan to play, and it was a big message. I think it is time we introduced a women’s version of the PSL.”

Ali Khan Tareen, who is the owner of one of the PSL's men's side has agreed on the idea suggested by Mir.

To which Mir responding saying that an exhibition match is definitely on the cards if another franchise agrees.

“We don’t need to start off big with six teams. We can start with three or four teams or even an exhibition match,” Mir said. “It is important for Pakistan Women’s team. When we talk about improving the women’s game and competing with other international teams, then we need to give out girls exposure."

“Other teams give their women players exposure, and it is important our players are engaged. Our players can have sessions with coaches from abroad and that can make a huge difference.”
