Natalia Pervaiz’s three-wicket haul, Diana Baig and Sana Mir’s two scalps each and captain Javeria Khan’s quickfire 36 off 29 helped Pakistan to win the T20I series against Bangladesh by 3-0.

Having won the toss, Bangladesh chose to bat first. But they went off to a shaky start as Natalia Pervaiz picked up both the openers within the powerplay. Pressure fell upon the middle order to steady the ship but they were unable to do so as they lost wickets at regular intervals.

Rumana Ahmed and Fahima Khatun were the only batters who reached the double figures. Ahmed scored 24 off 31 with 2 fours before she became Sana Mir’s second victim; while her first victim was captain Salma Khatun. A wonderful bowling from Pakistan dismantled Bangladesh and restricted them within a below-par score of 77 on the board.

While chasing a mere target, Pakistan too lost their opener, Ayesha Zafar, very cheaply. Captain Javeria Khan joined Nahida Khan and both started to resurrect the innings. Rumana Ahmed gave Bangladesh their second breakthrough, sending Nahida Khan back to the pavilion for 17. Javeria Khan anchored the innings and made the winning-foundation by scoring a quickfire 36 off 29 with 5 fours before getting dismissed to Kubra. Muneeba Ali scored an unbeaten 23-ball-18 and Pakistan clinched the T20I series by 7 wickets with 31 balls to spare.

Both the teams will play one ODI on October 8 at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium, Cox’s Bazar.
