Adelaide Strikers defeated Hobart Hurricanes comfortably by 24 runs to complete the double over Hurricanes in Adelaide.
Strikers won the toss and elected to bat first. Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine started the inning with flyer in particular Devine, took off from where she left yesterday. After a watchful opening period of 3 overs, Devine started to smash the Hurricanes bowlers all over the park with 5 fours and 2 sixes before getting dismissed for 40 (26) off Pyke. McGrath and Bates kept the scoreboard ticking but Knight removed Bates and Patterson in the space of 3 balls. However McGrath continued the impressive form and raced to 65 (39) with 11 fours and a six helping Strikers post 165 on the board in 20 overs.
In reply, Hurricanes started the inning confidently with Mandhana and Redmayne who was promoted up the order but Mandhana fell cheaply in the third over for just 7. Heather Knight joined Redmayne to steer the inning. Knight played superbly for her 55 off 39 balls before Devine took an unbelievable one handed catch at point off Price in 13th over. Daffara remained unbeaten on 22 (16) as Hurricanes kept losing the wickets in quick succession after the fall of Knight and the target went beyond reach in no time. Schutt and Price took 3 and 2 wickets respectively for Strikers.
Hurricanes finished their inning on 141 falling short off the target by 24 runs. Tahlia McGrath was declared the player of the match.
