Another series of the ICC Women’s Championship has started at Dambulla between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, where Javeria Khan set the platform for Pakistan’s win. Both the teams previously played with New Zealand and West Indies respectively, where Pakistan won an ODI against their counterpart but Sri Lanka couldn’t register a win in the series.

Kavisha Dilhari made her debut for Sri Lanka today, whereas Natalia Pervaiz and Muneeba Ali both made their debut for Pakistan.

Sri Lanka captain Chamari Atapattu won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Pakistan got into trouble when experienced opener Nahida Khan and newcomer Muneeba Ali were dismissed within 5th over.

After the two dismissals, Captain Bismah Maroof and vice-captain Javeria Khan started building a partnership and both added 48 runs on board before the captain got out by a delivery from Siriwardene. Soon after the captain’s dismissal, Sidra Ameen also got dismissed without scoring a run.
