CANTERBURY MAGICIANS vs AUCKLAND HEARTS: FL Mackay’s century went in vain; Auckland Hearts win comfortably
Having won the toss, Auckland Hearts chose to field first. Put into bat, Canterbury Magicians got the big blow when their opener KFG Nation fell for a duck. AN Kelly picked up her second wicket for Canterbury Magicians and soon they reduced to 32/3.
JL Savage started building the partnership with Mackay; who stood strong at the other point. Both played sensibly and added 105 runs. Later some quick succession left Canterbury Magicians at 206/8 after 50 overs. FL Mackay top-scored 112 off 145 with 12 fours.
Chasing 207, Auckland Hearts too lost their opener S Shahri on a duck. LR Down, along with SJ McGlashan added 128 runs and later McGlashan with KT Parkins added 136 runs and guide Auckland Hearts to a convincing win.
Auckland Hearts 207/2 (SJ McGlashan 93, M Banks 1/28) beat Canterbury Magicians 206/8 (FL Mackay 112, AN Kelly 2/21) by 8 wickets.
Wellington Blaze 205/4 (EC Perry 63, E Carson 2/32) beat Otago Sparks 201/9 (ON Gain 60, D Doughty 3/21) by 6 wickets.
