Baroda put up a comprehensive performance against Uttar Pradesh to record their fifth win in as many matches on the seventh day of the inter-state Under-23 Twenty20 Championship on Sunday (January 20).



Put into bat, Baroda rallied around Radha Yadav’s 33-ball 39, which included three fours and two sixes, to post 112 for 6. YH Bhatia was the only other batter to make a substantial contribution of 27.



Baroda would have fancied to have more runs on the board, but Radha got out in the 17th over and they could add only 11 runs in the last 19 balls.



Radha then continued her good form with the ball, returning figures of 2 for 11 in her four overs. Shivpriya Pandey made 40, but no other UP batters got going. They were restricted to 89 for 7 in their 20 overs.



Drishya IV’s 59-ball 115 powered Kerala to 192 for 5 before Keerthy James took 3 for 9 to keep Manipur to 45 for 7. Drishya is the fifth batter to score a century in the competition.



Meanwhile, Sayali Satghre took 3 for 3 in Mumbai’s big win over Bihar, and Priya Punia made an unbeaten 55 in Delhi’s 44-run victory over Haryana.



Goa slipped against Punjab in their chase of 95. After they steady 26-run stand between the openers, they lost wickets at regular intervals to be dismissed for 66 in 16.1 overs. Neelam Bisht, the Punjab captain, and Rajni Devi took three wickets each, and Sunita Rani chipped in with two scalps.



Baroda are currently topping Group A, while Maharashtra with three wins in four games are the leaders of Group B. Yet to drop a game, Mumbai, with four wins are on top of Group C and Gujarat lead Group D. Railways with four wins in as many games are topping Group E. They have a net run-rate of +4.646.
