John Harnden AM has been appointed as Chair of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Local Organising Committee (LOC), following the resignation of David Peever.



Harnden has been a member of the LOC Board since its inception. His credentials for delivering major international sporting events are second to none, having previously been CEO of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Local Organising Committee and CEO of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Corporation.



As well as being a Director at Cricket Australia (CA), Harnden is also currently Chair of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, and has previously been CEO of the South Australian Cricket Association.



The LOC Board also welcomes recently appointed CA Chair Earl Eddings, and new CA CEO Kevin Roberts.



The T20 World Cup 2020 LOC Board comprises:

Australia is next to host the newly renamed ICC T20 World Cup, following the conclusion of the Women’s World T20 tournament in the West Indies in November. Both the Women’s and Men’s T20 World Cups will be played as standalone events across Australia in 2020.
