Beaumont was nearly one of those players that got lost in the system. Her talent is beyond doubt, but it was difficult to see just where she would fit into the side. That changed when Mark Robinson became England coach, there was clear thinking about where players would fit and how to get the best out of everyone. This was just what Beaumont needed and she found a place at the top of the order. A great series against Pakistan in 2016 saw her score two centuries and cement her place in the side.
The 2017 ICC World Cup would see Beaumont finish as the competition’s leading run scorer, as well as establish record wicket partnerships with both Sarah Taylor and Nat Sciver as England enjoyed a successful campaign and ultimately win the final at Lord’s. Beaumont was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Years Honours list. She was also a part of the Surrey Stars side that finished third in the 2017 Kia Super League, as well as featuring for the Adelaide Strikers in WBBL03.
