Winfield is an attacking opening bat, who has formed an important partnership with Tammy Beaumont at the top of the order for England. Mark Robinson had a positive impact on her career after it was decided that changes had to be made after the 2016 World T20. During the summer of that year, she scored her only ODI century to date against Pakistan at Worcester. She missed the start of the 2017 ICC World Cup, having sustained an injury in the build-up to the competition. England looked a more balanced side with her opening, and ultimately England when on to win.
At the domestic level, Winfield is the captain of both Yorkshire in the Women’s county championship which she led them to the 2015 title and Yorkshire Diamonds in the Kia Super Leauge. After appearing in the Women’s Ashes late in 2017, she played for Hobart Hurricanes. She can also keep wickets.
