A dream debut at the age of 17 after her U-19 impressive performance, Steyn has had a career of both ups and downs, She scored her maiden ton against Ireland in the Quadrangular series. At present, as an opener she is expected to rotate the strike, while the aggressor is often opener Lizelle Lee. She performed extremely well in 2016, but had a poor run in the #WWC-2017 and in the series against India 2018. Steyn is strong through the cover region as she strikes the ball beautifully with ease. Problem with her, though, is the execution of her skills that often lead to a string of poor performances in the recent matches. She recently scored 293 from the last 10 matches she played just averaging over 29, a performance which is not on par with the international standards, let alone her own true potential. She is yet to make a T20 comeback, as the last match played was way back in 2014.
