Ama Kanchana is a Sri Lanka cricketer who plays as a bowler. A strike bowler for her team featuring in most matches, Ama made her One Day International (ODI) debut against South Africa on October 15, 2014.

After that, her progress graph started improving which led her to become the strike bowler of the team marked with an ability to break useful partnerships. Together with Siriwardene, the two form potent strengths for the Lankan attack. Ama Kanchana may not be the most economical bowler but her abilities to take wickets at crucial stages make her a useful asset. Playing as a bowler, her batting abilities are also technically sound and often come in handy.

Along with Eshani Kaushalya, she holds the record for the highest eighth-wicket partnership in a Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I)- with 39 runs. A talented player, she will do the team a world of good by improving her bowling figures.
