Ellyse Perry, Australia allrounder and captain of Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League, has signed a two-year deal with the club. She has been with the Sixers since the inaugural edition leading her side to back-to-back titles in WBBL 02 and 03 seasons.

Perry has amassed 2612 runs and has picked 32 wickets in the five editions that she has been part of Sixers. She also holds the record of scoring 777 runs - the most by any player in a single edition of WBBL. Last year, her tournament was cut short due to a hamstring injury, which was a big blow to Sixers who failed to qualify for the semis for the first time since 2015.

Jodie Hawkins, Sixers' general manager, is ecstatic to have Perry onboard for further two years.

"Ellyse has been a part of the Sixers from the very beginning. She was our first ever ambassador back in BBL01 and joined us as captain in WBBL01," Hawkins said.

"She not only plays for the Sixers but is also involved in our program development. We look forward to her not only continuing to play, but also leaving her mark on the club for years to come."

Ben Sawyer, Sixers' head coach, too, is pleased to have the services of Perry.

"Ellyse has been our captain from the very beginning of this competition and we are extremely happy that she has extended her contract with us for the next 2 seasons," he said.

"On the field, Ellyse has been amazing for us throughout the history of the WBBL, but she is so much more to our club than just her on field performances. Ellyse has played an immeasurable role in the structure and philosophy of our club and, along with our other senior players, both Australian and International, has always had our club and it’s long term success at heart."
