West Indies will travel to Pakistan for a three-match ODI series from November 8 to 14 ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe that's scheduled from November 21, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced on Thursday (October 21). All the matches will be played at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi.

After the cancellation of  the series against England and Sri Lanka, Pakistan will finally play a bilateral series since July 2021. Javeria Khan will lead the 18-member squad for the series as well as the World Cup Qualifier, while West Indies are yet to announce their squad. The hosts will be part of a preparatory camp from October 23 ahead of the series.

PCB chairman Ramiz Raja said he was delighted with the announcement of the tour. “This will be a great series for the promotion, publicity and growth of women’s cricket in Pakistan, besides also providing both sides excellent opportunity to prepare for the World Cup qualifier,” he said.

CWI CEO, Johnny Graves expressed his thoughts and said the reciprocal series is crucial for West Indies ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers. “This tour to Pakistan will give the team the chance to play in different conditions compared to the Caribbean and have more high-level competitive cricket ahead of aiming to secure one of the three qualifying spots available for the Women’s Cricket World Cup next year,” Graves said.
