The World T20 2018 is going on in the Caribbean; where ten teams are competing with each other. Group A consists of Windies, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh; whereas Pakistan, along with Australia, India, New Zealand and Ireland are placed in Group B.

As the competition has nearly reached it's semi-final stages with India, Australia, West Indies and England, it has been revealed by ESPNCricinfo that Pakistan players are contract-less and they have not been paid anything for the last six months. They are yet to be paid their match fees and other expenses by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

As per the PCB, 20 players are centrally contracted with the board for the first half of the year and another 20 players for the second half of the year. Due to change in the administration from Najam Sethi to Ehsan Mani, so, the process is getting late and the new contract will be signed by the players after they reach back from the mega event.

The players will receive monthly salaries from their domestic sides as well - like ZTBL and State Bank - but during their recent tours of Bangladesh and Malaysia, and now the World T20, they have only received the match fees and US$75 as their daily expense allowances. During the month-long camp prior to the tournament, they received US$50 as a daily allowance.

Former captain Bismah Maroof met the PCB selection committee to discuss on this topic and the players will get their every due so far. The new contracts are more stringently performance and fitness-based.
