Maharashtra’s Shivali Shinde, who struck an unbeaten 61-ball 100, was the star of the bat on Day 5 of the Women’s Senior T20 Trophy 2019-20. She became just the second century-maker in this year’s competition after Niranjana Nagarajan.

Shinde’s efforts helped Maharashtra beat Mizoram by 75 runs in their Group E encounter. Chasing 167 for a win, Mizoram were kept to three for 91, with Anuja Patil, the captain and Aditi Gaikwad picking a wicket apiece.

In a Group A match, four-wicket hauls by Priyanka Koushal and Nikita Singh wasn’t enough for Madhya Pradesh as they went down to Jharkhand by five runs. Batting first, Jharkhand were bowled out for 96 and yet, led by two-fers by Arti Kumari (who was also very economical) and Ashwani Kumari saw them restrict Madhya Pradesh to 91 with four wickets in the bank.

Meanwhile, Shreya Parab continued her fabulous form with the bat, scoring 58 off 54 balls, following her half century and 155-run partnership on the fourth day. However, Goa went down to Bengal by four wickets.
