The Oman cricket team received a major boost after an Omani company TMdone has been announced as the sponsor for the next two years. The sponsorship comes in after Oman, ranked among the top 30 in the world, have finished runners-up behind Kuwait in a tournament in Qatar earlier this year.

The TMdone sponsorship deal amounts to OMR 30,000 and it has come in at the right time when the tea is growing up the graphs. “We are extremely pleased to have received such wonderful support from TMdone,” said Pankaj Khimji, an Oman Cricket Board official at a welcome ceremony for TMdone team on the lush green grounds of Oman Cricket Academy.

“Improvement in cricket is all about playing more matches and more tournaments. This sponsorship will lead to our girls getting more exposure at the international level and gain more experience which will give them the confidence to perform better.” “TMdone sponsorship has come at a very important time for us. The girls are really happy and charged up to perform better,” Oman captain Vaishali Jesrani said.

TMdone CEO Yasser Al Barami said they are delighted to have joined hands with Oman cricket and its development in women’s cricket in the country. “We at TMdone decided to support the women’s team as it goes with our values of making a change in our society and local sports,” said Al Barami in his address at the ceremony.

“It will be our desire to see Oman women’s cricket team to reach a higher level much like Oman men’s team which ranks among the ICC’s top-20 in ODIs and T20 internationals.” The company MD Asma Al Maraghi supports local talent and feels that’s what brought them to the women’s cricket team.

“Oman has a very young and talented girls team and that’s what companies who want to contribute ask for. In Oman, women and sport is still something new and creative which meets the values of our company,” explained Al Maraghi.
