Ntozakhe: ‘The main goal is to bowl beyond my measures’

New Update
"The main goal is to bowl beyond my measures!" Those are the words of Proteas off-spinner Raisibe Ntozakhe as she looks to make an impression in the five-match ODI series starting tomorrow against Bangladesh at Potchefstroom. The 21-year old Gauteng off-spinner is fairly new to international cricket with only seven One Day Internationals caps for the Momentum Proteas.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Women’s CricZone, Ntozakhe said that is been a great experience for her so far from the quadrangular series to the world cup and leading to the India tour in February, in all those tours it was and still is a huge learning curve for her on how cricket is played internationally.

Steadily improving Ntozakhe was the only new addition to Cricket South Africa's list of women who were awarded national contracts for the 2018/19 season. Ahead of the Bangladesh series which gets underway tomorrow, Ntozakhe is still trying to adapt to international cricket.

"It is much bigger than the provincial cricket so it means the standard is higher and I'm adapting to it, plus it is a great challenge that I am enjoying and I am learning a lot from the senior players in the team", said Ntozakhe.

The Gauteng bowler also added that the main goal of the Proteas is to win the series against Bangladesh and she wants to bowl beyond her measures and as well as remain consistent as much as possible in her bowling.

For Ntozakhe to become a Protea player took a lot of patience and she is a firm believer of hard work, determination and putting in the extra hours behind the scenes.

She also hopes that repetition of putting in the hard yards will lead to her doing greater things in the future.

"The team is in a great space and we are ready for Bangladesh on Friday. We all have our game faces on for this series and all we need to do is to execute", concluded Ntozakhe.
