IND vs SA: Arundhati Reddy returns; Jemimah Rodrigues back from injury

Pace-bowling allrounder Arundhati Reddy has made a return to the India squad as BCCI announced the teams for the all-format home series against South Africa on Thursday (May 30). While Arundhati takes the spot of Titas Sadhu, uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry has also been named in all three squads in the absence of Yastika Bhatia.

Jemimah Rodrigues, who missed out on the Bangladesh tour due to an injury, has been included the squad. Inclusion of Rodrigues and allrounder Pooja Vastrakar are subject to fitness.

Radha Yadav, who impressed everyone with a player of the series peformance in Bangladesh, has made a return to the ODI side and will have a chance to add to her solitary cap in the format with the ODI series scheduled to be played from June 16 in Bengaluru. Priya Punia is another returnee in the 16-member squad for the 50-over format and she is also part of the one-off Test that's set to take place in Chennai from June 28.

Dayalan Hemalatha and Asha Sobhana has been rewarded with an ODI call-up for their impressive performances in the T20Is against Bangladesh. Left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque has been named as a stand-by in the T20I squad. The series will conclude with the shortest format that will be played from July 5 to 9 in Chennai.

Although there hasn't been any official communication in the press release, it is understood that Yastika and Sadhu are currently nursing injuries. Hence hasn't been considered for selection.

The ODIs will be part of the ICC Women's Championship for the 2022-25 cycle for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 that's set in India. The hosts last played a Women's Test against South Africa in 2014.
