In a must win encounter, Netherlands held their nerve to register a whopping nine wicket win over Germany. The victory led them to earn their place in the Global Qualifiers for the T20 World Cup in 2020, and the ODI World Cup in 2021.

Having won the toss, Germany elected to bat first. Contrary to their starts in previous matches, their openers laid down a solid foundation for the team. Stephanie Frohnmayer and Janet Reynolds put on a 41-run opening stand. The runs also came at a faster pace this time around, off 48 deliveries. The partnership was broken was Frohnmayer was caught by Heather Siegers, off the bowling of Miranda Veringmeier.

Wickets began to tumble after the first dismissal as Germany lost their next eight wickets for 22 runs. Apart from the two openers, no batter reached double figures as Germany finished their innings on 63-9.

Eva Lynch, Siegers and Veringmeier took two wickets each to disassemble Germany's line-up.

Siegers then led the chase with the bat. After Netherlands lost Sterre Kallis early on, Siegers scored more than half the runs. She smashed 36 off 26, including five boundaries. The knock saw Netherlands over the line in seven overs, with the loss of only one wicket.

A defeat by such a large margin meant Netherlands leap-frogged Scotland on the points table, due to a superiors net run rate. Netherlands, who had not won any T20I before the start of this tournament, have now earned direct qualification to the Global Qualifiers for the T20 World Cup in 2020 and the ODI World Cup in 2021.
