Natalie Brown bags Lancashire Cricket’s Player of the Year award
Allrounder Natalie Brown has been chosen as the women Player of the Year award at the Lancashire Cricket’s Player of the Year awards evening bringing down curtains on 2020. Brown was voted by the Thunder players that represented Lancashire, Cumbria and Cheshire in the inaugural Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Trophy.
The right-hander was Thunder’s leading run-scorer with 189 runs in six games. Her 82-ball 52 in Thunder’s win against Lightning was her best in the tournament. Brown was also successful with the ball picking up four wickets with a best of 1/18 against Central Sparks.
Performance-wise, Thunder couldn’t do except the two wins out of six. They started off on a winning note defeating Lightning by four runs before losing three matches on the trot. Thunder won their second game of the competition, against the same Lightning surrendering in their last group encounter. They finished the North Group in the third position with nine points from six games.
