Mithali Raj's biopic to be titled 'Shabaash Mithu'

Tapsee Pannu chose the occasion of Mithali Raj’s birthday to reveal that she will be playing the cricketer’s role in her biopic titled ‘Shabaash Mithu’. The actress took to social media to make the announcement on Tuesday (December 3).

Discussions of the potential biopic had been taking place for the last couple of years. When Press Trust of India asked Tapsee, last year, whether she was going to play the role of Mithali, the actress replied, “The script is not in place so it's too early to talk about it. Right now, they are collecting material and the script has not been written yet. If they offer me, I will be very happy. I really want to do a sports biopic.”

However, with a script complete, and the film set to be directed by Rahul Dholakia things are finally starting to take shape. Although there is no fixed timeline or release date announced, it is understood that Tapsee will begin her training soon.
