Australia claimed an easy win over South Africa in their second warm-up match at Providence Stadium, Guyana on November 6.

Australia skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bat first. Both the sides were desperate to win this warm-up match as this will be a big psychological advantage prior to the mega event.

After losing the toss, the South Africa opening bowlers got rid of Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner and Elyse Villani in quick succession and Australia were reduced to 8/3 within 3rd over. Once Beth Mooney was dismissed by Sune Luus' delivery for 24, skipper Meg Lanning joined vice-captain Rachael Haynes at the crease. They added a quick and much-needed partnership of 92 off 59 balls. Meg remained unbeaten on 65 off 51 balls which includes a mighty six along with 8 boundaries with a good support from Haynes who scored an unbeaten 29 of 27 balls.

The last 10 overs produced 92 runs for Australia. Marizane Kapp and Shabnim Ismail bowled brilliantly for the Proteas who have not only bagged wickets but also bowled pretty economical.

South Africa's innings started with a disaster. Their in-form player Lizelle Lee was caught by Ellyse Perry for a golden duck. With some outstanding display of fast bowling, no South African player could get a move on with the score. As a result, the required run rate increased and the pressure was mounted on the incoming players and none of them could actually get a start.

Eight bowlers were used by Australia and almost every one of them bowled under an economy rate of 6. While Jess Jonassen was the pick of the bowlers claiming 3 wickets, other bowlers too chipped in with wickets at a pretty good economy rate. As a result, South Africa could only score 84/9 in their allotted 20 overs and Australia won the match by 46 runs.
