New Update
The second Twenty-20 of India's tour of Sri Lanka has been abandoned due to heavy rainfall, with only 7.5 overs having been bowled.
The match got off to a delayed start due to rain, with India winning the toss and electing to field first. The tourists struck early to dismiss opener Yasoda Mendis in the second over for one off six balls, courtesy of a catch by Deepti Sharma, off the bowling of Arundhati Reddy. Sri Lanka's skipper, Chamari Athapaththu then looked to attack, scoring a brisk 21 off 16 balls, before falling victim to Sharma in the sixth over.
The last wicket of the day to fall was of Kaveesha Dilhari. She found herself back in the dugout in five balls, having managed only three runs after being caught by Reddy, off the bowling of Poonam Yadav. For Sri Lanka, Dilani Manodara was at the crease on 15* off 17.
Sri Lanka were reeling at 49-3 and it is safe to say India had the upper hand at this point, so they will surely be disappointed that the match was abandoned. The tourists' still lead the series 1-0, with three more Twenty-20's left to play for.
