S Prajakta hit an unbeaten 53 and Vandana Mahajan took a six-fer helping their respective teams to emerge victorious in different Plate Group matches of Senior Women’s One-day Trophy on Friday (February 28). Chasing Arunachal’s 116, Mizoram didn’t face many hiccups as Prajakta single-handedly guided them to victory in 32.1 overs losing just one wicket in the process.

On the other hand, Mahajan’s six wickets giving away just five runs rocked Jammu and Kashmir as the Meenu Singh Salathia-led side folded for a meager 29 runs in 17.3 overs. Such was Mahajan’s fiery bowling that 10 of their batters went back having single-digit scores. In reply, Meghalaya just took 13 overs to romp home.

However, Sikkim slumped to yet another defeat losing their fifth match on the trot. Chasing Nagaland’s 113, the Ananya Upendran-led side folded for just 66 runs in 40.4 overs with Dichen Onsmu top scoring with 18. Earlier, Shristi Rai picked up five wickets giving away just 15 runs for Sikkim.

Nagaland 113 all out in 43.2 overs (Munia 17; Shristi Rai 5/15, Ananya Upendran 2/15, Shubi Pandey 2/15) beat Sikkim 66 all out in 40.4 overs (Dichen Onsmu 18; Madhumonti 3/14) by 47 runs.

Jammu and Kashmir 29 all out in 17.3 overs (Rubia Syed 11; Vandana Mahajan 6/5) lost to Meghalaya 30/2 in 13.2 overs (Saee Purandare 13*) by eight wickets.

Arunachal Pradesh 116/8 (Runa 25; Apurwa Bhardwaj 2/12) lost to Mizoram 119/1 in 32.5 (S Prajakta 53*) by nine wickets.
