Sune Luus will lead a 17-member South Africa squad in their tour of India, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced on Sunday (February 28). Dane van Niekerk and Chloe Tryon continue to miss out due to injuries.
The tourists have named the same squad that played at home against Pakistan last month. Masabata Klaas, who was part of that setup, missed out due to a late injury.
“It is really exciting to finally have this tour confirmed and announce our squad that will do duty here in India, and we are looking forward to getting out there to see our ladies prove themselves under different playing conditions,” said Hilton Moreeng, head coach of South Africa.
“India is always a wonderful place to tour and we are looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead.”
The players will have to undergo a six-day quarantine before getting down to practice. The first ODI will be played on March 7 at the Ekana International Stadium in Lucknow.
South Africa had last toured India in 2019, when they lost the six T20I series 1-3 before going down 0-3 in the ODIs.
