Laura Wolvaardt attains career-best 7th spot in ODI rankings for batters

Laura Wolvaardt gained two places in the ICC ODI Rankings for batters, moving to seventh, the ICC announced on Wednesday (January 27).



Wolvaardt scored 58 in the final ODI between South Africa and Pakistan, ending with 125 runs in the three-game series, the most for the hosts. She is joint-seventh with Australia’s Ellyse Perry, who are ahead of India’s Mithali Raj by four points. Marizanne Kapp, who scored 115 runs in the series gained four places to reach 22nd while Lara Goodall and Shabnim Ismail also moved up to 72nd and 84th respectively.

In the rankings for bowlers, Ismail and Ayabonga Khaka maintain their fourth and 12th spots while young left-arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba, who made her debut in the first ODI, entered the charts at 57th spot.



For Pakistan, Aliya Riaz earned a career-best 36th position while Nida Dar has moved to 44th from the earlier 54th. Nashra Sandhu has moved to 16th in the bowlers’ charts with the leading bowler of the series, Diana Baig, moving to 35th.



In the ODI Team rankings, South Africa and Pakistan maintain their fourth and seventh positions respectively.
