The Lancashire women's team are helping out local food banks during this coronavirus pandemic. Led by Kate Cross, the group have collected and delivered food parcels to charities in their local areas to aid them in the endeavor to help people in need.

The players have been able to donate to food banks in Preston, Sanbach and Burnley, as well as the Trussell Trust food bank in St. Helen's.

“Cricket has taken a back seat for the moment but we have stayed connected as a team and been keen to help,” Cross said.

“It was great to have so many of the girls getting involved. We came up with the idea collectively but everyone has bought into it and helped out around the areas where they live across the North West. We felt that it was the least we could do in the current situation.”

“I’m extremely proud of the group for their contributions to the community and willingness to help in what continues to be an unprecedented situation," said Jen Barden, Women's and Girls cricket manager at Lancashire Cricket. “We hope these donations can make a small difference to the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves, and families and individuals who this virus has impacted.”
