Kirstie Gordon will play for Kent in 2020, the club announced on Wednesday (January 29). Gordon makes the shift after representing Nottinghamshire since 2016.
The Scotland-born left arm orthodox bowler has played a Test and five T20Is for England, making her Test debut in the Ashes in 2019. She also featured in the T20 World Cup in 2018. She has three Test wickets and eight T20I wickets.
“Everyone associated with Kent Women is delighted that Kirstie has decided to joing us at Kent,” said Paul Downton, Kent’s Director of Cricket about the Loughborough Lightning player. “She has consistently taken wickets, especially in T20 cricket, across all levels of the game and her efforts so far in England colours have shown what an exciting young spinner she is.”
The 22-year-old player was the ninth highest wicket-taker in Division One of the National T20 competition, despite having bowled fewer overs than those in the top ten. She picked eight wickets at an average of 6.50 and an economy rate of just 3.71. In the County Championship games, too, she took six wickets last year
