The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur is likely to host the Women’s IPL matches this year, according to reports. Jaipur had hosted the tournament last year and received a massive response from the cricketers as well as the fans. With the men’s IPL starting from March 29, the women’s event is likely to be played during the men’s play-offs mostly around mid-April, although the official dates are yet to be announced.

“There would be seven matches between four teams in the women’s IPL and Jaipur is likely to host them,” a senior official associated with the cash-rich T20 league said PTI on Friday (February 21). In addition to the three teams -- Supernovas, Trailblazers and Velocity – that took part in the competition last year, a fourth team will be playing this time, the name of which is yet to be decided.

Meanwhile, the official also confirmed that the All-Star match, which was scheduled to be held before the IPL, will now take place after the tournament. “The venue for the match is yet to be finalized. We will have to see the performances of the players (and then select) them,” the official said on why the original plan was scrapped.
