Ireland has played their first match of this mega event on November 11; where Australia comfortably won that. Talking about that, Kim Garth said, "The bowling and batting. Bowling, like, we actually did a lot of homework for the game. And I don't think we executed them. All and at times we kind of looked like deer in headlights a bit. And that was disappointing."

Australia have been in great form throughout the year. Perry told, "it's been incredibly enjoyable to see the way the team has been evolving over the last 12 months and even in the last six months as well, the work that we've put in to play this style of cricket that we want to play."

Losing wickets in a cluster is definitely a matter of concern, said Garth. "Yeah, obviously it's a concern. I think credit to Australia. They bowled quite well, and also the wicket is slow. It's not easy to bat on, but having said that, it's something we do talk about as well is scoring shot percentage. And when we've lost clusters of wickets we talk about just getting down the other end and turning out of the strike. And I think we managed to do that a bit better towards the back end of the innings."

Talking about slow pitch and a lot of slow bowlers they're facing, Perry expressed, "Think batters are well within their rights to come down to the pitch of the ball. I suppose it's just after you play that shot being particularly aware of where your following steps are, maybe that's something we can kind of practice a little bit at training."
