Islamabad to host Inter-Departmental T20 Tournament

New Update
The second Inter-Departmental T20 Women's Cricket Championship, organised by Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) women's wing is set to take place in the country's capital, Islamabad.

The 10-day long tournament will begin on 27 March and will end on 5 April, 2019 at Diamond Cricket Ground. With a total of 13 matches, the competition will see four teams clash with each other in a double round-robin. The two teams that finish on the top will then face-off in the final. Each playing day, except the final, will see two matches be held. The first of the day will begin at 9:30 a.m (PST), with the following match beginning five hours later, at 2:30 p.m.

A major reason for shifting the venue from Karachi, where the previous domestic matches have been held, to Islamabad was to increase the popularity of the game and expand it. The tournament features four teams; Zarai Tarakiati Bank (ZTBL), Standard Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Higher Education Commission (HEC) and PCB XI.

ZTBL will undoubtedly be the favourites going into the competition. Captained by Sana Mir, the side has some of the most prominent names in the national squad including skipper Bismah Maroof, Javeria Khan and Nida Dar.
