A half-century from Indu Barma and three-fer from Rubina Chhetry helped Nepal beat Qatar by 119 runs in the first of the three-match T20I series on Tuesday (November 16).



After being put in to bat first by Qatar, Nepal lost Kajal Shrestha early. Sita Rana Magar and Barma kept the innings going for the tourists. The duo built a partnership, ensuring that Nepal did not lose any further wickets.



Rana Magar made 33-ball 39 before getting out to Sabeeja Panayan. Meanwhile, Barma scored 55 runs from 47 balls at the other end. However, Barma was retired hurt, and Sarita Magar was left to take the Nepal innings forward.



Magar made a run-a-ball 21, taking Nepal to 146 for four in 20 overs. Angeline Mare and Pananyan took a wicket each for Qatar while the other two scalps were run outs.



In reply, Qatar were not able to stand up and perform against the good bowling of Nepal. The hosts were bundled out for 27 runs in 11.5 overs. Chhetry took three wickets for one run while Kabita Kunwar and Rana Magar bagged a couple each.
